The Best Spring Break Nail Design Trends
Wow Your Clients with These Hot Nail Looks

Winter is melting away, nail pros. The snow is disappearing, the flowers are blooming, and spring break is inevitably approaching. That means something major is about to happen. Your clients are about to line your shops with one request–give me the latest spring break trend.

If you’re not sure what these trends look like yet (and don’t worry if you don’t, we get your busy), consider this blog the ultimate shortcut to picking and choosing the best spring break nail trends.

In other words, we’ve done the hard work sourcing the trends for you. All you need to do is sit back, relax, and maybe start practicing variations of some of these looks–because your clients are about to swarm with some of these rad requests for Spring Break.

Top Nail Design Trends for Spring Break

Dainty Frenchies

An oldie but a goodie–and that’s for a reason. This Spring Break, you’ll find a ton of classic french manicures dotting the beaches (or, like, wherever people go for spring break now). Why, exactly?

A client shows off her dainty french nails, a popular style for spring nail trends.

Because french manicures are a classic–and a classic never dies. This simple, clean, and ever-so-sophisticated look is perfect with any Spring Break outfit, making it a must for your clients’ big trips and vacation plans.

Preppy Stripes, Please

Preppy stripes are so last year–and we’re glad to see it’s a trend that’s sticking around for Spring. We’re talking about classic, preppy, horizontal stripes that just scream, “why yes, I DID just spend the weekend at Martha’s Vineyard. Didn’t you?”

Need a little inspiration to figure out how to best rep this trend for your clients? Channel preppy brands like Tommy Hilfiger, L.L. Bean, Vineyard Vines, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, J.Crew, and beyond. A classic color combo of maroon and deep blue is a great way to get your feet (or your hands, rather) wet in this trend.

Maximalism Over Minimalism

Rhinestones, add-on art, extra colors, sparkles–if it’s more, then it’s a must. Maximalism is very in this year overall, and Spring Break nail trends are no exception. While minimalism–clean lines, 1-2 colors, and a simple, natural look–has been the overarching nail trend for some time, this year is all about embracing MORE when it comes to nails.

Our verdict? We love to see it. So, next time you’ve got a client who wants a little pizzazz, don’t be afraid to recommend a few more accents and rhinestones.

Taste the Rainbow (Actually, Just Paint It)

Consider this your sign to paint rainbows on everyone’s nails. OK, maybe don’t take it that far. But going with our maximalism theme, it probably makes sense that rainbows (AKA several colors all in one palette) are in.

Want to get creative with it? Go above and beyond just painting each nail a different color. Bring out your inner artist and do a little airbrushing. Adding a rainbow in rhinestones is a definite option. There’s no rainbow look too out there for this Spring Break trend.

Chrome Nails Forever

Silver, gold, bronze, metallic–we don’t care what hue you go with; just make it chrome. This trend is huge right now. Models all over the place are dotting runways with chrome nails, celebrities are opting for solid chrome colors, and trendy folks on the street (who are ahead of the curve) already have their fave shades selected.

Opaque or sheer, it doesn’t matter–bring a little chrome into your clients’ lives for a very on-trend look this spring break season.

Aura Nails

Yep, your clients’ aura has a color and a vibe–why wouldn’t you include that in their nail look? Aura nails are all about an airy, cosmic, and otherworldly vibe. But how do you accomplish that? Pair a solid base coat with a gradient look (which you can accomplish with a blooming gel polish or even an airbrush if that’s your thing).

You should end up with a smooth, polished, and airy-looking result that’s a perfect fit to your client’s aura (well, who knows if that last part is true–but they will look cool).
