Who Is Esthetician Insurance For?

Esthetician insurance is designed for skincare professionals who want their own liability coverage for the services they provide.

EBS coverage can be a fit for:

  • Independent and solo estheticians running their own beauty business
  • Estheticians working in salons or spas who need individual liability coverage
  • Treatment room and salon suite renters operating from a rented space
  • Mobile estheticians providing approved services at eligible locations
  • Estheticians working at multiple locations throughout their career
  • Esthetics students looking for affordable student coverage

If you work independently within a salon, spa, or shared space, don’t assume the business owner’s insurance automatically covers your professional services. Having your own policy can provide coverage tied directly to the work you perform.

What Does Esthetician Insurance Cover?

Elite Beauty Society esthetician insurance includes professional and general liability coverage, along with additional protections designed to support estheticians in their day-to-day work.

Professional Liability

Professional liability helps protect you against claims tied directly to the esthetic services you provide. For example, if a client experiences a skin reaction after a facial or irritation following a waxing service, professional liability coverage may apply to the resulting claim.

General Liability

General liability covers common accidents that are not specific to the esthetic service itself. This can include incidents such as a client slipping in your treatment area or being injured while visiting your workspace.

Personal & Advertising Injury

Personal and advertising injury coverage helps protect against certain non-physical claims, including defamation, slander, or copyright infringement connected to your business or marketing.

Additional Policy Benefits

EBS esthetician insurance also includes identity theft protection, along with additional benefits such as medical expense reimbursement, legal defense, and lost wage protection when applicable to a covered claim. These added protections provide another layer of support beyond your core professional and general liability coverage.

Esthetician Insurance That Fits How You Work

Esthetician Insurance FAQs

Do Licensed Estheticians Need Their Own Insurance Policy?

Yes. Estheticians are responsible for the services they provide, and working in a salon or spa does not guarantee that you are covered under the business owner’s insurance policy. Having your own liability insurance helps protect the work you perform and may also be required by a landlord, salon, spa, or suite provider.

How Much Does Esthetician Insurance Cost?

Elite Beauty Society offers a one-year policy for $179, a two-year policy for $299 total, and student coverage for $49 per year. A $5 processing fee applies at checkout.

What Does Esthetician Liability Insurance Cover?

EBS esthetician insurance includes professional and general liability coverage for claims related to your services and everyday accidents. It also includes personal and advertising injury coverage and identity theft protection.

What Esthetician Services Are Covered?

EBS covers 500+ approved beauty and wellness services, including many skincare and esthetic treatments. Coverage depends on your applicable license, scope of practice, and state or local requirements. Certain services may be excluded.

Can I Add an Additional Insured To My Esthetician Insurance Policy?

Yes. Additional insureds can be added to an active EBS policy, which is commonly requested by landlords, salons, spas, and suite providers. Gather the required policyholder and additional-insured information and submit the request through EBS; additional fees apply.

How Quickly Can I Receive Proof of Insurance?

You can receive same-day coverage and your certificate of insurance within minutes of purchasing your policy. You’ll also receive access to your online portal, where you can view your insurance documents.

What Is Occurrence-Form Coverage?

Occurrence-form coverage is tied to when the covered event happened rather than when the claim is reported. If an incident occurred while your EBS policy was active, a claim may still be covered even if it is reported after that policy has expired, subject to the terms of the policy.

Do Esthetics Students Need Liability Insurance?

Students are already working hands-on while learning their skills, so liability protection can be valuable before entering the profession full-time. EBS offers student coverage for $49 per year, providing coverage while you train and prepare for your esthetics career.
