Recap Of Premiere Orlando
Mickey, Minnie, and the biggest beauty show in the country.
Orlando is home to so much more than just Disney, great outlet shopping, thrilling theme parks, and orange groves. It’s home to the biggest (and in our opinion) best professional beauty show in the nation.
And we were lucky enough to attend this year. Don’t worry if you weren’t able to make it this round, we’re recapping everything you missed and where the trends in the beauty industry are heading!
First and foremost, it was BIGGER and BETTER than ever before.
Education at Premiere was non-stop and when we say non-stop, we literally mean double booked, back to back classes, since the doors opened. The expo floor didn’t open until Sunday, but education began on Saturday. Overall there were more than 650 classes for hair pros, nail techs, estheticians, massage and spa professionals, and barbers.
Premiere Orlando (and all of their sister shows) are a haven for pros in the beauty and wellness industries looking to up their game, mingle with the top influencers and educators in the industry, meet other passionate stylists, and have a great time doing it!
PLUS the discounts and exclusive show specials on new products, tools, and salon/spa equipment are out of this world.
Once in a Lifetime Education, from the Best in the Biz
The education at Premiere was a platform for some of the most admired leaders in the beauty and wellness industries, such as Sam Villa, Guy Tang, Tokyo Stylez, Sofie Pok, Jenni Bui, and more to share their real experiences, real advice, and real tips on making it in these industries.
Let’s Dive In
Premiere Orlando 2019 featured classes ranging from hair color, design and finishing techniques, hair loss solutions, microblading, makeup techniques, to business improvement courses, digital up-selling classes, social media centric classes and more. While Premiere is primarily a hair show, the education wasn’t lacking in the spa, esthetics, makeup, massage, or barber spaces one bit.
There were hands on education classes where you could learn Bridal Styling 101 with wedding hair design expert, Laura Chiaia, How to Create Fringe, Bangs, and Frame with industry legend Sam Villa, The Fundamentals of Headshape Haircutting with Hattori Hanzo, and so much more.
The opportunity to ask questions and take pictures were endless.
Talk about priceless!
The Premiere Expo Floor
In-between classes and educational experiences the expo floor featured seemingly endless retail booths from new, indie, and upcoming brands, to the biggest retailers and trend setting companies around. In addition to being able to shop until you dropped, or couldn’t fit anything else in the suitcase you brought (yes, a lot of pros really bring suitcase for all of their show steals) there were insta-worth photo experiences, a virtual reality salon experience, and of course over-the-top competitions.
Not all professionals attend Premiere for the education, we know how could anyone skip all of that- but we get it. As we mentioned above-the expo floor is unbelievable. It’s essentially Disney world for beauty, spa, and barber pros. You could walk miles, just by taking a few laps around the convention area floor. Everywhere you looked there were elite, club style DJs, high fashion-esq runways, live education from top brands’ platform artists, and thousands of passionate industry professionals.
All of your favorite brands were present from Hattori Hanzo Shears, Amika, Redken, Andis, Cosmoprof, BaBayliss, ULTA, Pravana, Brazilian Blowout, Morphe, CND, Gelish, Wahl, and more! These amazing vendors weren’t just present, they were putting on a SHOW. Walk by the Amika booth, pick up their insane show deal (5 different products, for just $60) and then go join a spectacular live education class at the ULTA booth complete with runway and DJ.
If you needed a break from the shopping and hype in the middle of the floor you’d find yourself along the boarder of the room, either at the Beauty Cast Network Job Fair or entering one of the many competitions.Beauty and wellness professionals still in school benefited from stopping by the Beauty Cast Network booth to join an enormous network of salons, looking to hire new talent. Experienced pros were able to enter a variety of competitions from women’s hair-styling, men’s grooming, to makeup artistry, and nail artistry.
Sound like the massage and spa professionals were left out? Don’t worry, they weren’t! Outside the main event hall, attendees could purchase a variety of quick massage options, allowing licensed massage therapists to earn their continuing education hours. There was no shortage of demand after partying, shopping, and learning all day!
The Premiere Experience
If you thought that was it, you were wrong. Yes, the show opened at 9:30 in the morning and didn’t close until 6:00 at night, but if you’re a professional in these industries, you know the party never stops.
After the official Premiere show ended, there was an official Premiere show after party to mix and mingle with fellow beauty and wellness industry professionals. The theme this year? Masquerade. Other brands and companies also got in on the after-party fun. From salon suite companies throwing member appreciation parties for their suite renters, to hot brands throwing exclusive soirees for loyal artists and pros who purchased their tools or products- Premiere Orlando 2019 was not to be forgotten.
All in all, an AMAZING weekend for us at Elite Beauty Society, we had an awesome time meeting all of the wonderful beauty and wellness pros that make our industry so great.
Any stylist, nail tech, makeup artist, barber, or spa pro thinking about attending Premiere Orlando 2020, go! These events are career changing and inspiring to the max.
Can’t wait until 2020, not a problem! As we mentioned earlier, Premiere Orlando has 2 sister shows Premiere Philadelphia and Premiere Birmingham.
Check them out and up your beauty or spa career in the most fun way possible.
